Role of CAR Team at Main Commissionerate – The Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The Urban Refugees Support Unit team at main Commissionerate serves as secretariat for the urban refugees management initiative and provides the technical and administrative support to the DA’s offices. The already established Help Desks in Mardan and Haripur are also being managed by the main CAR HQs.

Specific tasks being performed include

Responsibility of establishing urban desks at districts and facilitation
Trainings of the focal persons of urban desks
To provide policy guidance and direction to DA’s Offices
To address the challenges technically/administratively faced during the execution
To oversee the performance of all Districts
To appraise CAR, KP on monthly progress regarding Urban Refugees Management
Propose the guidelines and policy draft to CAR KP needed to facilitate urban refugees
Coordination and communication both upward, downward and lateral
