On 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, UNHCR, IOM Pakistan, UNFPA Pakistan and the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) organized a significant event. This event emphasized the urgent need for collective action to address and eliminate Gender-Based Violence (GBV) against women.

The Chief Guest, Shakeel Muhammad Khan Safi, Commissioner for Afghan Refugees KP, delivered an inspiring address calling for enhanced collaboration among stakeholders to ensure these vulnerable groups can access education, vocational training and healthcare enabling them to become active contributors to society. He noted that empowering refugee women and girls not only uplifts their lives but also fosters social cohesion and resilience within communities.

The panel discussion included insightful contributions from experts and practitioners calling for stronger policies, community engagement and sustainable support mechanisms to safeguard the rights and dignity of women and girls.

The event concluded with a commitment to work collectively to eliminate gender-based violence and empower women and girls ensuring no one is left behind.
