The Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit Baltistan & SAFRON Engr. Amir Muqam along with Commissioner for Afghan Refugees, KP

The Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Engr. Amir Muqam alongwith Commissioner for Afghan Refugees, KP Shakeel Muhammad Khan Safi formally inaugurated the solarization project at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Alpuri, District Shangla. This initiative marks a significant milestone in ensuring sustainable and uninterrupted electricity supply to one of the key healthcare facilities in the region.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Honorable Minister expressed deep gratitude to UNHCR for its continued support and commitment to enhancing public service delivery in remote and underserved areas of Pakistan. He lauded the solarization initiative as a forward-thinking step that aligns with the government’s vision of promoting renewable energy solutions and improving healthcare infrastructure especially in regions prone to power shortages.

The Minister was briefed on the key features of the system and was particularly impressed by its capacity to fully meet the energy requirements of critical hospital units. He emphasized that access to continuous electricity is essential for the effective functioning of hospitals especially in emergency and maternity services where any disruption can endanger lives.
