Education is a fundamental human right and a cornerstone for the development and empowerment of communities. At the Commissionerate for Afghan Refugees Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (CAR KP), we believe that education is crucial for the well-being and future prospects of Afghan refugee children. Our Education and Youth Development Cell (EYDC) is dedicated to ensuring that Afghan refugee children and youth have access to quality education and developmental opportunities.
The EYDC works tirelessly to facilitate the enrollment of Afghan refugee children in primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools within refugee villages (RVs) and urban areas. We advocate for the recognition of school certificates with the provincial Ministry of Education, the Higher Education Commission (HEC), and other educational bodies to ensure that Afghan students can seamlessly integrate into the Pakistani education system.
Through our efforts, we also promote extracurricular activities, career counseling, and sports, which are vital for the holistic development of refugee youth. Our collaboration with universities like the University of Peshawar and Khyber University helps facilitate higher education opportunities for Afghan students.
By fostering a supportive learning environment, CAR KP aims to equip Afghan refugee children with the knowledge and skills they need to build a brighter future. Education is not just a means of personal growth but also a pathway to peaceful coexistence and social cohesion between Afghan refugees and their host communities.
