UNHCR’s Deputy Representative, Ms. Fumiko Kashiwa alongwith Mr. Shakeel Khan Safi , Commissioner for Afghan Refugees, KP, inaugurated a new LED bulb manufacturing unit at the Naguman Refugee Village in Peshawar.
Through a collaborative effort with SRSP, six Afghan refugees both men and women have formed a group venture to produce LED lights. This initiative supports sustainable incomes and encourages economic independence.
During her visit, Ms. Kashiwa also engaged with female outreach volunteers in Peshawar’s urban areas reaffirming UNHCR’s dedication to improving access to protection, healthcare, education and livelihoods.
